Polish Battle: Blue's Brother vs. Teal The Cows Come Home

Hey Ladies! It's been a long while since I've posted! Horrible, I know. What can I say... School is evil and I'm trying to win my love back! (Mari will probably step in now and comment on my corniness!)

I've had this post semi-saved for a while and I figured it was time to put it out there.

This is a comparison of Catrice's "Blue's Brother" and OPI's "Teal The Cows Come Home." I know it's not easy to get Catrice in the US. I had to get mine through a swap with a lovely blogger. So it's nice when you can find a dupe or a similar color for something you can't get.

I did 3 coats of each polish. No base coat and no topcoat.

In my simple mind these are both an aqua type teal blue with shimmer. It's funny because I couldn't tell them apart in person... Yet in pictures you can see a slight difference. Blue's Brother is slightly darker than Teal The Cows Come Home.

Application was great for both and I felt that they had the same consistency.

End result: If you aren't really picky, you could use Teal The Cows Come Home to feed that need if you can't get your hands on Blue's Brothers.

Hope you gals enjoy! I hope to be back with more soon!

Swatches coming super soon.  The pics speak for themselves.  Quite cool-looking, aren't they?

OMG, my new fave....a no-name Nina!

I picked this up at Sally's a while back and there is no name on the bottom of it.  It's a Nina Ultra Pro.  My favorite color is purple... and this is right up my alley.  It's a dark plum with plenty of gold AND pink shimmer.  PINK!  Sooooooo pretty.  I caught myself looking at it in the sun throughout the wear.  Lovely.  (click to enlarge)

It kind of makes up for the fact that I really want Chanel Paradoxyl, but have not brought myself to get it yet.  It's THAT pretty.  And even prettier in real life.  One of those shades that pictures just dont do it justice.  I'm going to try to get a name for this shade and if my investigative work is a success, I will update this post.

MY BAD! Deborah Lippmann Sophisticated Lady

Hi Girls!  Sorry it's been a while.  Having issues with the internet and getting free time at a computer these days.  I apologize.  I have a few posts coming up this week to try and make up for it.  *wink*

Here we have Deborah Lippmann's Wicked Game Sophisticated Lady.  DONT EVEN ASK!  I HAVE NO IDEA, NO CLUE, NO INKLING AS TO WHERE I GOT WICKED GAME FROM.  O.M.G. I NEED A VACATION!!!!!   I've had this one for years and I've only worn it a few times.  I'm a red-wearing girl only on like VDay, around Christmastime, and if I need to make an impact.  Don't think it's my color, really.  This is two coats.  It's a deep red, which I favor more than brights because I am pretty fair, and it has a jelly-like finish but it's a cream.  See for yourselves.  SUPER SHINY! And little fingers.... and toes....

My children... I'm telling you, I cant even LOOK at my nail table without my kids reaching for a cotton round and nail polish remover.  Sofi (the tinier hands of my 3-yr old) always wants something with pink and Abby (my 4-yr old) something with black.  Yeah, ok, how about no?  So they came up with this combo all their own.  White with pink stars for Sofia and mauve with pink hearts for Ab's.  Cute, no?  Oh, and they wanted their toes done too.  (Try to get these two to sit still long enough for this stuff to dry... practically impossible.)
