Swatch - China Glaze's Chiaroscuro...

Hey Ladies!

Today I have another swatch for you but I must warn you that I'm going to be brutally honest. Well, I'm always honest but today I'm going to be brutal. I can't help it. I really really dislike this color. I don't know what made me buy it. I'm talking about Chiaroscuro... This swatch was done without base coat and without top coat.

I felt comfortable with the coverage after 4 coats. Its a little on the sheer side. Other than that, the formula was great. I think I'd describe this as a nude pinkish peach with a shimmer that varies from gold to green. However, the green shimmer is a little on the lime side. LOL! It's not the typical green tone you see in shimmer.

Now I have to admit that I hate this color. I really do. And don't take it as a reflection on China Glaze because they're awesome. I just think it's all the wrong colors for my skin tone. Remember, I have an issue with greens and I tend to like colors that aren't safe. I'm studying to be a lawyer so I rather enjoy crazy polish now in case I end up getting a job where crazy polish is highly frowned upon. LOL!

In the end, I own the color so I wanted to share it with you gals. Maybe one of you out there likes it! Just because it doesn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for someone else.

And.... random but every time I see this polish name I think of Churrasco! Yum!

Do any of you guys have a polish like this? A polish you totally hate and don't know why you bought it?

Happy Polishing!

I don't really like that kind of colors either... It looks a little bit old fashion too me.
Let's hope law firms will be less conservative when we'll finish our studies ! ;) I enjoy crazy polishes too. I had my first job interview the other day and I chose OPI - Pink-ing of you, I felt like it wasn't really me... bouhouhou

I have this polish, actually--the green flash intrigued me. I haven't tried it yet, but suspect I won't like it against my skintone.

what if you added a layer of opi's significant other color? that will make it more interesting or in the worst case...really ugly :)

I pick this color up every time I go into Sally's but for some reason, I still haven't purchased it. I am still intrigued by it and maybe with my skin-tone (Oprah-like), it may work. Who knows maybe one day.

I have something against those shades too! Altought I do have some in my collection but it is just beacuse of my mother, she usually loves the nail polishes I hate and vice-versa... so that keeps my collection a bit balanced. I truly dislike old pinks and my mom loves those... it just bugs me :P
I liked when you said you are enjoying crazy polishes now in case you won't be able to wear them on job XD lovely... when I get a job I always ask if there is any problem with painted nails ;)

I think it is a really pretty color. Yes it is "safe"but sometimes. . . safe is what we need. But personal opinion on not liking it :) Its great to be honest!! Just because you didnt like the COLOR doesnt mean you dont like the Brand!

I have it although it's still an untried for me. I really like it in the bottle. And no matter how much I like / dislike it on my nails I will always have a soft spot for it since this is the only polish I own to date that relates to my job as a voice teacher. :)
