NOTD: To "Flakies" Or Not To "Flakies"

... That is the question! And the answer is... TO FLAKIES!

This is the mani I did yesterday!

I have seen a lot of lovely bloggers do this look (black/dark and flakies) and I've been dying to try it out myself. So I finally did. And what better way to celebrate the death of my weekend (due to that horrid paper) than by painting my nails black!

So I used 2 coats of China Glaze's "Liquid Leather" as the base (swatched here). Then I used Sinful Color's "Green Ocean" flakies. I can't tell you how many coats I used because I didn't count. If a nail needed more flakies to look even I'd just keep passing the brush over and over until all the flakies came off the brush and stayed on the nail. I put one coat of Seche Vite but once it dried I noticed that the flakies made the nail feel bumpy. So I put another coat of Seche Vite to even it all out. At this point, it looked gorgeous. But I took it another step further and added a coat of Essie's "Matte About You" topcoat.

The flakies are amazing! Even though the bottle is green, the flakies are more blue than anything else. But there is some green too (especially with the bigger pieces).

Do you gals like it?

Haul & Swatch: China Glaze - Liquid Leather

Hey Addicts!

I took this picture Saturday night. You know, the night I was "trying" to work on my paper. Yeah, that is my research under those bottles. LOL! An update though, I finished my paper 3 hours before the time deadline. =)

China Glaze:
TMI
Flyin' High
Matte Magic Topcoat
OPI:
Dim Sum Plum
Dating A Royal
Black Cherry Chutney
Color Club:
Ultra Violet
Electro Candy

I decided to get OPI's Black Cherry Chutney because of a beautiful swatch that I saw on Polish Hoarder Disorder. Isn't it pretty? If you haven't seen her blog (which I hope you all have) then I suggest you check it out. She has amazing swatches. She is the reason I finally got Dating A Royal too!

China Glaze - Liquid Leather

This is China Glaze's "Liquid Leather." I only included one picture this time because it's black. LOL! It looks the same in all pictures. Simply pure black! The first coat was a little streaky (but I've experienced this with all black polish). After 2 coats, perfection!

Craziness....

You know, we keep looking at the blog in wonder. Not only did we want to do our first giveaway to celebrate a random number, but we never imagined that in celebrating 64, we'd gain over 300! Out of sheer curiosity, I decided to apply a counter and visitor tracker. We got over 400 hits yesterday alone! And really, from all over this planet. Even some little island off the coast of Africa I've never even heard of. How cool is that?

With so many other AMAZING nail blogs out there....you guys choose to visit ours and some of you decide to FOLLOW it? Craziness. I mean, my list alone is endless *cough, cough...180 blogs.... *coughing* and I add to it practically every day (listen, I have A LOT of free time in the courtroom. Don't hate.) THAT'S TOO COOL!

We're humbled, really.

So I just wanted to give a shout out to all you lovelies who visit, follow and comment and say THANK YOU. You guys make it all worth it (along with all the pretty polish... I mean, that's the reason we're all here, right?)

Old Mani Revived...

... Yeah, still avoiding this assignment... But I feel the inspiration isn't too far away... I swear! I was reading cases for my paper and I was semi bored. So I decided that some slight entertainment was needed.

So I grabbed my matte topcoat and revived my current mani (which I originally posted here). This was the outcome:

Not this reddish in person. I promise!

Ignore the beautiful tip-pull. LOL! I did this mani on Wednesday and have been typing a lot since.

So as a reminder, this is OPI's "Chapel of Love" (base), M73 stamped with OPI's "Lincoln Park at Midnight" and a coat of Seche Vite. Then I added a coat of Essie's Matte About You Topcoat!

Now back to my paper... *sigh*

Avoiding School Work...

So... I'm supposed to be working on a legal brief I have due tomorrow at midnight... But I keep avoiding it as if it were the plague. As it is, Mari is going to kill me when she see's that I posted on here because that means I'm not working on it like I should be.

But I have a good reason to be distracted! My niece, which will be 4 years old in a month, has been after me to paint her nails. I call her ChiChi and she is the love of my life. She always notices the designs I put on my nails and wants me to do them to her little nails too. So, since I welcome all distractions from my paper... I painted and stamped her nails!

I present to you ChiChi's nails!

I used Color Club's "Believe In Amour" from the Pardon My French collection... Go figure I just won those and my niece gets to use them before I do! But since she is 4 I had to go with a safe pink color. She is too young for crazy brights and her mother, my sister, would kill me. LOL! The stamp is with Konad's Special Polish in "Pastel Blue." And the flowers are from M3.

It's cute to see ChiChi get home and hear her yelling "Mommy! Daddy! Look at my nails!" as she runs to them with her little fingers up.

I love her! =)

Weird, true, but I still think it's Cute!

This is Lemon Fizz and Four Leaf Clover, both by China Glaze; and Konad's M57 i.p.

Need a No-Buy Rule... and adherence thereto.

This is another recent haul. (I must be stopped.)

Mind you... I say this as two, not one, but TWO e-tailer shopping carts currently lay in open tabs in my Internet Explorer. And hell hath no fury as what might come upon the person who inadvertently closes my tabs instead of minimizing. *a-hem*

The Purse Forums

Totally random but...

It's so cool to see that so many bloggers are tPF members.

I'm looking through the nail threads and I'm like: "Hey! I recognize those nails!"

Yes, I follow a lot of blogs (via RSS) and I actually start to recognize your nails because I see them every time you post something new!

And for those of you that don't know what tPF is... it's The Purse Forums!

Swatch & KOTD - OPI's Chapel of Love

Hey everyone!

So I did my nails yesterday because DV8 chipped. I love holo polishes but I wish they lasted longer. I took advantage and took swatch pictures of the base coat. This is OPI's Chapel of Love:

Lextard has an amazing swatch of this color that captures it much better than I did. Actually, Lextard's swatch is the reason I purchased this color in the first place. LOL!

And here is the final look:

As you can see, I used OPI's "Chapel of Love" as the base color. I then stamped using plate M73. The stamp color is OPI's "Lincoln Park at Midnight."

My toes are currently painted with China Glaze's "Purple Panic" but I refuse to post pictures of my chicken-nugget-toes on the internet. Have I said that already?

Anyways... Hope you gals like it!

NOTD/Swatch - China Glaze DV8

Hey Addicts!

I've been sick and wasn't feeling very creative on Sunday when I painted my nails. So I went with something I hadn't used yet and was dying to do so. So this post serves as a NOTD/Swatch.

Behold, China Glaze's DV8!

Description: Insanity!
a.k.a. Blue/Teal Holo

This is 2 coats. However, I have to say... This was a pain in the tush to apply. If you went over the nail twice with the brush it would remove the polish. LOL! So I had to try to apply the most even coat with just one stroke. And the 2nd coat would sometimes take off the dry coat underneath. LOL! Either way, the color is sooooooo gorgeous. I would go through any mission to wear this.

If you guys haven't noticed by now... I LOVE BLUE!

I won a giveaway!

I can't believe it. I actually won a giveaway! Manicured Manatee held an awesome giveaway for Color Club's Pardon My French collection. It's funny because I hadn't even noticed that I won. I was sitting at Mari's house and was painting my nails. Mari was on the computer checking on all the blogs we follow (which is a very long list). Next thing I know she reads a post off one of the blogs. And she says: "Lissi won.... You won something!" Needless to say, I jumped off the stool and ran to the computer. The announcement had been posted for 10 hours before I found out because I hadn't checked on my blogs that day yet.

Here is the prize:

I can't wait to swatch them all!

Most importantly, I'd like to give a big thanks to Manicured Manatee for the great giveaway! THANK YOU!

Swatches (Orly, OPI, Essie, China Glaze, & Zoya)

Hey Addicts!

My misfortune is to your benefit. I've been home sick from school so I finally get to post the swatches we did last week.

Orly - Hawaiian Punch (2 coats)A super amazing bright bold magenta with blue flash.

OPI - No Room For The Blues (2 coats)
Bright blue sky cream.

Essie - Jam n' Jelly (3 coats)
A warm, rich fuchsia (description stolen straight outta Essie's webpage. LOL!) But I'd add that there's a slight blue flash to it too. LOVELY!

China Glaze - The Ten Man (4 coats)

White/silver frost with small glitter. You can see the gray but I'd definitely consider this more on the silver side. Very cool. And yes, FOUR COATS! It would have been just 3 but I accidentally scratched the wet paint with the nail of my other hand and had a lovely line running across them all. So I did a 4th coat to hide that because I refused to start over!

Zoya - Reece (2 coats)Bright pink with gold shimmer. LOVE THIS!

Zoya - Adina (2 coats)
Purple with like a green and pink duochrome. These colors are just the coolest but super hard to capture. Green in some pics, purple in others. Take our word for it, they're beautiful.

Coming May '10, OPI Summer Flutter Collection!

Soooooooooo cute.
  • Wing it
  • Catch Me in Your Net
  • Flower to Flower
  • Flit a Bit

Yeah. I'll be NEEDING (notice how I dont say 'wanting') those two pinks and that blue. :)

Purples and M64 - Revisited

This look is an idea I had a while back and convinced Lissi to do... which she posted here.

But alas, I felt left out because I just loved the idea so much. Sooooooo, this past weekend I did it on myself using what else? PURPLE!!!!! Yeah, it's my favorite color. Can't help it. Purple is just A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. (Notice the natural grip I have on my mouse. LOL. I should, considering I hold the thing pretty much all day long.)

This is Color Club's Fashion Addict with OPI's Pamplona Purple. The stamp, Konad's M64, is one of my favorites but Sweet God... every time I place the stamp I wonder if I was drinking while doing so. It NEVER wants to come out straight. *annoyed*

Enjoy ladies... also, Lissi should be posting some swatches soon and I got some more goodies today from my wonderful UPS man, who isn't cute at all (life isn't perfect, is it), so expect those soon too. Hopefully it'll be sunny the rest of the week. You'd think so wouldn't you? Miami? Florida? 10 minutes from South Beach? People have to avoid dehydration and heat stroke around here. But noooooooooooooo...... all you gotta do is mention swatching and what happens? Torrential downpour. *sigh* Stay pretty, girls.

KOTD: Pink & Blue Star Flower Things

Hey Addicts!

Crazy weekend... *sigh*

Here is my mani from Thursday/Friday:

I painted my nails on Thursday with Orly's "Hawaiian Punch" for swatching purposes (which I'll post up later). Then on Friday I stamped those little star-flower things (M54) with Konad's "Pastel Blue." That is by far one of my favorite images!

More coming soon!

Nail Polish Rant

Hey Addicts!

So I just wanted to let out some steam. This is my nail polish rant:

Have you ever been stalked by a nail polish color? Well... I AM! Everywhere I turn, there it is! Weekly, other bloggers post about it! Pictures upon pictures of it's vivid beauty...

I'm talking about..... H&M'S BELLA'S CHOICE!

The color is beautiful. Gorgeous! Amazing!

Of course, I fall in love with a color/polish I can't get. There is no H&M anywhere near me. Ebay doesn't have it. Google doesn't find anyone selling it. Amazon doesn't have it. I've entered EVERY giveaway I have found with that polish but haven't won.

Therefore, I post my proposition to the nail addicts of the internet world. If you have Bella's Choice and don't want it, or if you live across the street from H&M, CONTACT ME! LoL!

This is the ONLY polish that I am "lemming" over. THE ONLY ONE!

Ok... *end rant*

My First Zoya Polishes *happy dance*

So we discovered a Beauty Supply store that sells Zoya!

Mari can imitate my reaction to this discovery quite well. We walked into this place and were looking at some things on the front displays. Suddenly, down an aisle, I recognized a bottle shape. *heavenly music begins* The next thing Mari heard was me say was "Oh my god, they have Zoya!" I think I left a trail of smoke behind me (like in the cartoons) as a ran into the aisle.

Meet my two new girls...

Reece & Adina
Swatches coming soon!

NOTD: Purples & Flakies - Difficult to capture!

Hey Addicts!

First, I can't believe the massive jump in followers in just less than 24 hours! It's amazing what a little giveaway can do.

Moving on... Here is the mani I did on Tuesday.

The base color is 2 coats of Sinful Color's "Let's Talk," which is a difficult color to capture (as I said before - swatched here). It's a much more vibrant purple in person. For some reason it looks bluish in all pictures. LOL! Then I put 1 coat of Nfu-Oh's #52. I tried my best to capture the flakies. The pictures don't do it justice. It's hypnotizing in person! And in the sun... OMG!

Hope you gals like it. I'll be back with more soon. =)

Cheeky Monkey Swatches!

Hello Addicts!

So, as we blogged before, we received awesome products from Cheeky Monkey! We got 3 amazing nail polishes: Man Chaser, Cougar, and Whatever. I was able to swatch these colors yesterday and want to share them with you all.

Man Chaser (4 Coats)

Let me start off by saying that this is MY personal FAVORITE! This color is described as a sheer iridescent hot pink. Gorgeous! However, it really is sheer! It took 4 coats in order to avoid a visible nail line. Regardless, it's beautiful and I would apply however many coats necessary to rock this awesome color! I suggest you all stop looking at our blog (can't believe I would ever say that), open a 2nd browser/tab right now, go to their website, and order this polish immediately! (But promise you'll come back to our blog and read the rest of this post.)

Cougar (2 Coats)
Cheeky Monkey describes this color as a medium red with blue-orange. This is my 2nd favorite out of the 3 polishes we received. As I was applying it, I admit I was scared. The first coat was a little bright... Not like "cheap red" but bright. However, after the 2nd coat, it was perfect. Not too bright, not too dark, perfect. I think the name "Cougar" suits this color very well.

Whatever (2 Coats)

Cheeky Monkey describes this color as a dark neutral beige. My simple minded self sees this color and thinks: Orange-brown... like rich caramel (yum). It's not that this is my least favorite, I just think these colors don't look good on me and my skin tone. There is nothing wrong with the color itself. I had a perfectly even color after two coats. So, I still recommended it.

Overall, these colors are amazing. They apply even over the nail and dry fairly quickly. The bottles are adorable. The names are hilarious. I highly recommend them. Don't be surprised if I swatch more colors some time in the near future... I have a few of their colors on my list of "Polishes To Buy."

Enjoy!

Disclaimer: Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics provided these polishes to me. No monetary exchange was made between parties. My opinions are solely mine and are honest and true. This review is only for Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics nail polish. I have no experience with their other products.

Swatches (Zoya & Sinful Colors)

Hello Addicts!

So we managed to get some swatches done yesterday. Sadly, it wasn't really sunny anymore when we did these so we did the best that we could.

Zoya - Zara (2 Coats)
Zoya describes this as a cool toned purple frost with gold shimmer. At first I wasn't a fan of this color... The bottle isn't even mine. I did my friend the favor of picking this up for her since I was getting stuff for myself (Adina & Reece, which will be swatched tomorrow). So I took advantage and swatched it! Now I love it.

Sinful Colors - Let's Talk (2 Coats)
This color is very hard to capture in pictures... It's a deep purple with blue undertones. It ends up looking blue in almost every picture. Regardless, it's such a beautiful color. It really pops in the sunlight!

Enjoy!

Birthday Mani #2

Hello fellow addicts! I know I'm a little late in posting this... but better late than never. It's been a crazy weekend. This is the look we did on Saturday since we were going out dancing for my birthday.

This look has 2 coats of Sally Hansen's "Blue It" as the base color. Then we put 2 coats of Nfu-Oh's 52 over it. It's amazing what that Nfu-Oh polish can become. After all that, I used my best nail friend, Seche Vite topcoat.

Let me start off by saying that it's SUPER difficult to capture the flakies in pictures. I don't know how some of you girls out there manage to do so perfectly. Feel free to share your secret with me.

Either way, I loved it!

Played Hooky and Came up with This...

After hanging out at home, a good lunch at Flanigan's, a few visits to the drugstore (*cough, cough*) and some swatching I decided on this look. I cant get the pic to do the color any justice. It's actually pretty turqoisy aquaish mermaidy. I'm sure a lot of you out there understand E-X-A-C-T-L-Y what I meant by that. This is two coats of China Glaze's Sexy in the City and one of Sinful Color's Nail Junkie. Now I'm going to go watch LOST and be more confused than ever!!! *sigh*

China Glaze Vintage Vixen Collection (July 2010)

Hey everyone!

I saw this on other blogs and wanted to help spread the word! I don't know how fellow bloggers find out about these. It's not even on the China Glaze website yet!

Aren't they beautiful? I find myself falling in love with "Hey Doll" and "First Class Ticket."

Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics!

Imagine how excited we were when we found out we were going to receive items from Cheeky Monkey! For those of you that don't know, Cheeky Monkey Cosmetics is a Canadian company with an amazing sense of humor. All their polishes have funny names and are 3Free. I agree 100% with their website... They are "quality with a giggle!"

Our package arrived yesterday and inside was an adorable black gift bag. The polishes were wrapped in pink and black/white (polka dot) tissue paper. Here are the polishes we received:

(From Left to Right)
Cougar
Whatever
Man Chaser

Each bottle has the color's name written all over it in different fonts. So there is no need to worry about losing the label sticker on the bottom of bottles. Each bottle had a tag on it with a quote (pictured above). My personal favorite is the tag in the middle. =)

We'd like to give a big "Thank You" to Andrea (President & Founder) for sending us this. But most importantly, for creating quirky products for all of us to enjoy.

We will be swatching these colors asap (probably Wednesday) and posting pictures. So check back with us!

Goodies!!!

Here are our recent hauls!

Lots to do.... lots to swatch....

Birthday Mani #1

Hey everyone!

First, thanks for the birthday wishes. =)

Second, I know I said I was going to use my new Nfu-Oh #52 polish next (for my birthday yesterday) but we decided to hold off and do that tomorrow... because it matches better with the top I'm gonna wear to go out and celebrate. LOL! So we went with something different instead.

On a side note: It's funny how I look at my nails and they seem fine... But look at them on a computer screen after taking a zoomed in picture (on macro mode) and they don't look so fine anymore. LOL! Slowly but surely I'm working on getting the nail routine down to an art so I can have great nails like many of you out there. Either way, the point of the pictures are to show off the nail looks. So let's get to it!

So this is the look we did (on Wednesday) for my actual birthday (on Thursday). We used China Glaze "Lemon Fizz," Konad Special Polish in "Psyche Hot Pink," and plate M64.

Hope you guys like the look. Tomorrow I will be doing something with Nfu-Oh #52 and Mari will be doing a new look too. So check back with us!

FYI: Whatever you do, don't click the picture to make it bigger. Oh no! Don't do it! I just published this post and clicked on it myself... Oh no! It's huge and you can see just what I mean when I say it isn't so pretty up close. LOL! Spare me the nail-blogger-embarrassment. Ha!

It's Someone's Birffday!!!!

Not like I'm not going to speak to this person today... but I just wanted to post a little shout out to Lissi... the other half of this United Front, Squirt (or The Squirticus, as I've been calling her almost twelve years)... and my little sister (though not biologically). I hope you have an amazing 25th birthday today and may your future be filled with laid back law professors; few study nights that require 5-Hour Energy Shots (though this is highly doubtful); but most importantly, BEAUTIFUL smudge-free, fast drying manicures and lots of polish buying coupon codes!!!

Olive Juice mucho!
Me

Star Flowers and Blues....

Lissi calls this image from M54 Star Flowers. It's one of her favorites. And I love this shade of blue. This is Orly's Snowcone, which was practically a one-coater..... A-maaaaaaaaaaazing application. I couldn't get my camera to focus as closely as I wanted it to so these pics were actually taken with my Blackberry (aside from my two toddlers, my other baby). Happy Thursday, guys! Week's almost over. Woo Hoo

Birthday Present To Me!

I love my mail-woman! Getting packages in the mail is like Christmas morning all over again.

So my 25th birthday is on Thursday and I decided to splurge a little and get myself something nice (something nail related). So I decided to get a Nfu-Oh polish. Now I know many of you out there have tons of these. But for me, it's a big deal. You see, I'm a first year full-time law school student so you aren't allowed to work during your first year. There simply isn't enough time. You basically have to live off your student loans for a year. So paying $12.50 for one bottle of nail polish is slightly painful. That is like 4 bottles of China Glaze at TransDesign! But a birthday is a good time for an exception to the rule.

Behold, my FIRST (and only, for a long time) bottle of Nfu-Oh #52:

I'm sure everyone out there already knows what this bottle looks like. But I'm so proud of it that I want to share it anyways! I can't wait to wear it tomorrow. Happy early birthday to me!

KOTD: Purples and M64

Hey all! Sorry for the delay. I did my nails on Monday (instead of the usual Sunday) and didn't have time to edit the pictures since I went to go see Alice in Wonderland. Amazing movie by the way! Anyways, before sharing my nails. I wanted to share a story.... (Or you can just scroll down to the pictures if you aren't interested. LOL!)

So I get home and I find my mother sitting in the backyard painting her toes. I recognized a couple of bottles of mine sitting on the table. Seems mom went "shopping" in my polish box while I was at school. I have no problem with this because that is mother. *Loves Mom*

So I come upstairs and start getting stuff ready to take pictures of my nails when I hear the 3rd worse sound in the world... I heard a nail polish bottle hit the floor and bounce like 6 times. Then I heard my mother curse and say every word in the book. Now, the funny thing is that my mother doesn't curse. She is so prim and proper. So I knew it was going to be bad. So I run downstairs and find a pink massacre all over the kitchen. There was pink on the cabinets. Pink on the floor. Pink on my mother. So I rushed over to help her clean it up before it dried on everything.

Turns out that my mother was walking across the kitchen with the bottle in her hand and it slipped out of her grip. The best part is that the pink massacre didn't happen because the bottle broke... no, no. She had the bottle open... A bad habit I'm guilty of doing as well (until recently).

So, the moral of the story:
1. Don't leave nail bottles opon when you aren't actively using them.
2. I need a new bottle of OPI's Got A Date To-Knight.

Moving on...

So I used Color Club's "Fashion Addict" as the base and Sally Hansen's "Deep Purple" on the accent nail. I then stamped using M64. For stamping I swapped the colors and used "Deep Purple" on all the fingers and "Fashion Addict" on the accent nail.

I tried my best to capture the insanity that is "Fashion Addict." Such a nice purple holo.

Although, I do have to say that I'm sad at how long this manicure lasted. I did this yesterday and already had a massive chip on my thumb. =(

Oh well, I'll be giving myself a birthday manicure tomorrow so no real harm done. =)

Enjoy!

Mar 8, 2010

Happy Monday!!!! Gold Swirly, Purply French?

I wasn't being very creative, I know.... but this is what I came up with. It's kinda cute, I think. This is China Glaze BFF on the tips, OPI's Venus de Violet as a base and Orly's Glitz's for the Konad Stamp using plate M63. I know we've seen this swirly on countless pretty nails before but that's just it, it's sooooooooo pretty. I can't help myself. :)

Nail Polish Lingo

Mari shared this with me to try and bring some laughter to my night... Since my night is being consumed by a Law School Appellate Brief (*angry face*). Enjoy! Oh and if you know what all these mean before reading the definition... YOU ARE AN ADDICT!

NOTD – Nail of the Day (basically, whatever nail polish one is currently wearing.)

HTF/VHTF – Hard to Find or Very Hard to Find. Definition varies based on place of usage. Example: HTF is NARS Zulu. On Ebay VHTF is Essie Mademoiselle or OPI Bubble Bath.

RAOK – (verb form ROAKing, ROAK’d) Random Act of Kindness (giving someone else free nail polish for altruistic reasons.)

No-Buy – (1) The status of realizing that one is ridiculous, and spends entirely way too much money on nail polish. One consequently over-compensates by vowing to not buy any nail polish indefinitely, followed shortly by a major failure, see related words: Binge. (2) A mythical impossible task like Sisyphus rolling the rock up the mountain.

Stash – One’s nail polish collection, usually hidden from loved ones.

Binge – Uncontrollable desire to buy a seriously ridiculous amount of nail polish, followed by actually making the ridiculous purchase, followed by feelings of guilt and worthlessness, followed by the No-Buy vow.

Lemming - Having an uncontrollable desire for a particular polish after seeing a picture of someone else wearing that color.

Shrinkage - A coat of nail polish that shrinks on one’s nail to create a visible white space with no polish on the tip of the nail. It’s generally a very undesirable side effect of using fast drying top coat over very thickly applied polish. No relation to cold water.

Tip Pull - Looks the same as shrinkage except Tip Pull occurs after a few days of wear. It’s the most common kind of nail polish wear and tear (generally associated with typing) other than regular chipping; An excuse to change one’s nail polish.

Cuticle Drag/Cuticle Pull – The polish-less splotch centered close to the cuticle that comes from using a crappy nail polish that basically removes itself when one applies additional coats; One of life’s most frustrating occurrences.

The Place that Cannot be Mentioned”/”The Place that Shall Not be Named” – Ebay.

Franken - Mixing a new color from various different polishes.

Dupe – Short for ‘duplicate’. A nail polish that looks exactly like another polish. This is a rare occurrence, especially to someone plagued with the nail board eye.

The Nail Board Eye - A disease that causes the sufferer to be able to distinguish even the slightest difference of color between polishes that are seemingly the same, forcing the sufferer to decide they must own both polishes even though no one else will know that the colors are actually different.

VPL/VNL - ‘Visible Polish Line’ – referring to the nail white that is visible under some sheer or jelly polishes.

Essie's Shindig & M3

Hey everyone! I'm sad to say that my blue marble look chipped... But that means I had an excuse to change my nail polish yesterday. I decided to go with Essie's Shindig. This color has been described as a pinkish-peach. But I think it's like a pinkish-peachy-coral.

I don't know... When it comes to colors I'm pretty simple minded. For example: You might say plum... I say purple. You might say peachy pink... I say pink. You might say rosey red... I say red. LOL!

Anyways... I used M3 for the bows. I used the larger bow on all the nails except for the pinky. For those I used the smaller of the two.

Until next time... Which I hope will be Sunday... Assuming my Appellate Brief cooperates and decides to write itself. I'm hoping that staring at the laptop screen in frustration will make it sort itself out.

St. Paddy's Look? Kinda sorta....

I had to do something with this green cuz I just LOVE it... believe me, I'm the furthest from Irish as you can get. I'm Cuban/Spanish and Lissi is Cuban/Argentinean. Hel-lo?!? Nowhere near Irish but it's not like I needed an excuse to do a green look. This is OPI Jade is the New Black and Milani's Hi-Tech using M51. Enjoy! And I apologize for the blurry pics... *putting battery to charge*
